100% Water re-use

A farm in Lanzarote needs quite some water. And our guests and artist use some too. That’s why we have installed a black and grey water filter system, with three tanks and carefully monitored, which gives us the opportunity to re-use all the water from the house in the farm.

But we need a little bit of help though…

From everyone who visits, to start with. By using organic products to wash and shower (we provide them of course) and by not throwing anything (toilet or sanitary papers) in our toilets - which block the system.

Thanks to the Belgian brand YOKUU - cleaning products made of good bacteria, we are sure the eco-system of our water filters will work perfectly. We will be cleaning & doing the laundry with their products, which are either easy to refill (less waste!) or really small (which means less CO2 for transport).

And some of their bacteria are also used in other water filtering systems. Double win, right?
