About heidewinne

Embroidery brings together so much of her past and present. She applies many of the skills she learned, as well as shows her own vision on color and design. And her inner magpie gets to work with all the bling it wants.

Throughout her education and professional career she has worked within a whole set of craftsmanship and arts: drawing, lithography, millinery, bird taxidermy and embroidery, which she has learned at the école Lesage in Paris. This training was a lifelong dream, and she is ready to share the knowledge she aquired.

For her, all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place with embroidery: getting to draw, combine the colors she wants, combine textures, create, … Her hands determine the pace and speed.

To her, embroidery is storytelling, or interpreting someone’s tale. Every work takes you on an adventure of discovery through different settings of materials and views.

Hektor: a place of little wonders

Contemporary art and design meet the charm of an old Canarian farm brought back to life. Since 2021 Hektor’s owners have work relentlessly to renovate the farmhouse and regenerate the land.

In quiet village, centrally located on the island, this 20.000m2 terraced estate starts to rise as a green oasis. With over 300 new trees and bushes, an extensive permaculture vegetable garden and a herd of rescue farm animals, the farm reminds of the old days of the island.

At the same time, its comfortable suites full of art - from the personal collection as well as contributions of artists that resided at the farm - are an inspiration to every visitor.

All meals served at Hektor are plant based and homemade, mostly with produce from the organic garden.

An inspirational achievement
