Left, found & loved

One of the peculiar things about buying a house in Spain is that you also buy everything that is inside the house. That’s how we managed to find some true treasures, which have gotten an update and are now an essential part of some of our rooms.

At the same time, it’s good to keep an eye and an ear open in Lanzarote. Whether you are on the road, or people start a refurbishing, there is an opportunity to find something around every corner.

And of course, we have cherished plenty of things which we have found or inherited over the years.

A small overview in pictures!

The lamp was the only thing left when we bought our former house in the Netherlands. The stools are vintage IKEA, we found them in an old office in Ghent.

The stool was a gift from a friend, it was refurbished by Jeffrey Vanhille. The basket used to belong to the grandmother of one of our artists in residency, Heidewinne.

We found the orange table with the marble top in the house. It got painted in one of our house colors: bright orange.

This little owl died in the woods of Bert’s parents. The taxidermy was done in memory of lost youth.

The paper holder was bought at a flea market in Ghent, our former hometown. It used to be on Yves’ desk at our Belgian office.

The glass vase is a family piece of Yves. The drinking bottle and ash tray were respectively found on the lands and in the house.

The vintage orange IKEA chair was a gift from the craftsman who made our kitchen in Ghent.

The table was a gift from friends who were going to rebuild their house in Famara. It’s an original 1960’s piece, made in Norway.
